A jury, composed of the Minister for Education and of a comity of teachers, has selected three economics books which are proposed to high school students. They had until December 4th 2011 to elect the one they most like among the selection.
The students had to determine the book that best puts forward economic analysis and reflection. The books represent educational resources linked to the programs, for the classes of 11th and 12th grade which study Economics and Social Sciences as well as Sciences and Technology of Management. Each class had a vote and had to justify its choice by explaining the reasons for its choice in a few lines.
This year, the books selected were the following:
-* L’incroyable histoire de Wall Street by Jacques Gravereau and Jacques Trauman, Albin Michel
-* L’arrogance chinoise by Erik Izraelewicz, Grasset
-* La nouvelle révolution commerciale by Philippe Moati, Odile Jacob
The Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry hosted on 7 December, the 13th ’Journée du Livre d’économie’, on the theme: The euro at ten: what is a currency ?
Award high school 2011 "Read the economy" was given to Erik Izraelewicz for « L’arrogance chinoise » (éditions Grasset)
