LE B.A. BA DE L’ÉCONOMIE CONTEMPORAINE

This overtly educational and easily accessible work uses short interviews to relay the dialogue between its various authors. The questions that the teachers ask (What is a market? What is globalisation? How do companies work? etc.) reflect the difficulties that upper secondary school pupils encounter when trying to understand contemporary economic issues.

The book is accompanied by colourful leaflets summarising the economists’ arguments. These leaflets are adapted from the wall graphics of the “The economy: crash, boom or transformation?” exhibition running at Cité des sciences in Paris until 5 January 2014, which makes this little book a very useful extension of the exhibition.

The exhibition and its accompanying book will provide answers to a variety of questions such as these,” states Banque de France governor Christian Noyer in his contribution to the preface.
