On 20 July 2010, Christian Noyer, Governor of the Banque de France and Claudie Haigneré, President of Universcience, a public establishment that brings together the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie and the Palais de la Découverte, signed a cooperation agreement on the museography of the economy.

The two institutions will collaborate on setting up common exhibitions to promote the understanding of economics by the general public and, especially, young people. They will keep cooperating with the opening of the future Cité de l’Économie et de la Monnaie in the former Banque de France branch of Paris-Malesherbes.

The Banque de France project of the Cité de l’Économie et de la Monnaie gives further impetus to a long-standing cooperation: the Bank has already participated in a number of exhibitions at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie: “The economic crisis and after?” in 2009, “Fake! Spotlight on counterfeit goods” in 2010, and "Euro Expo" that opened on 10 June 2011.
