This indicator gives the number of bank branches per 100,000 inhabitants aged 15 to 64. Overall there is an average of 12 branches per 100,000 adults, with great disparities across the regions. In Africa, there are 6 branches per 100,000 adults; this number is lower if we only take the countries of sub-Saharan Africa. In Europe, there are 39 branches per 100,000 adults. South America has the countries with the highest number of bank branches per 100,000 inhabitants (over 80 branches). This number is also high (above 60) in the countries of Southern Europe, and also in Luxembourg.
